The synthesis of novel di-n-butyl [bis (alkyl-aminopropionic acid)]tin (IV) (alkyl = octyl, dodecyl, octadecyl) 2a-2c is reported. The complexes were characterized by 1H, 13C, 119Sn NMR, IR, MS and elemental analyses. For compound 2a the 119Sn NMR showed the presence of five signals suggesting the existence of a mixture of five hexa–coordinated species in equilibrium, two trans (I, II) and three cis (III, IV, V). In contrast, the compounds 2b and 2c present only unique hexa–coordinated specie.
